Scam Hunters episode 6: The Notorious Notary

In episode 6, Heidi and Ezra start to suspect that this scam is much more than just stolen credit cards, but it’s still unclear if it’s an insider job from within the church or something related to an external hacker. The plot thickens when Heidi receives a hostile voicemail from Iman, the nurse she previously paid a visit to, which only strengthens their suspicion.

The next stop of their investigation leads them to Brad Zieman, a quirky notary with a mysterious “mobile credit card reader” that he claims was sold to him by a charismatic salesman named Manny. As Heidi uncovers that the device may be a skimming tool, Ezra confirms that it sends card data to unknown parties, raising the possibility that Brad is either knowingly or unwittingly helping to fuel the fraud scheme. Brad, however, is convinced of Manny’s innocence, describing him as “the perfect sales rep.”

With new leads in place for Heidi and Ezra, they edge closer to unraveling the mastermind behind this tangled web of deceit. Is Manny simply an oblivious salesman, or is he the mastermind they’ve been hunting? Stay tuned to find out.
